The four wheeled drive World War 2 general purpose vehicle, known as the Jeep, eventually became a best selling civilian sport utility vehicle. It has had a number of parent companies over the years. After the war, the Jeep was manufactured by the Willys-Overland company, which was eventually bought out by Kaiser Motors. Currently, Jeep is a division of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Corporation but, before that it was manufactured by the defunct American Motors Corporation. Today, Jeep sales number around one and a half million vehicles annually, of which about a million are sold in the United States. Insuring your Jeep vehicle will typically cost less than the average vehicle. The current Jeep models have high safety ratings and insurance companies definitely take that into consideration when pricing their products. So, the average cost of insuring your Jeep will usually be below the national average cost of insuring a vehicle. Among the brands product line, the Wrangler will be the least expensive to insure and the Grand Cherokee will be on the high end. But keep in mind that there are many factors that go into determining your annual car insurance premiums. Your driving safety record plays a big part in setting your rates. If you have a clean record, you will get preferred rates. Regardless of the insurer, a driver in their teens or twenties will pay substantially more to insure a Jeep than older drivers. Your place of residence will also influence your rates. Jeep owners in cities will pay more than their suburban or rural counterparts.
The best way to try to get the lowest price for insuring your Jeep is simple. Shop around. Get free price quotes from three or more carriers before you make your decision. You may be surprised to see just how much insurance costs can vary from company to company for the same vehicle. Compare prices and save money.
